Trent Foltz, P.E. – Co-founder and Co-CEO
Over his 17 years in the business, Trent has specialized in providing oil and gas acquisition and divestiture (A&D) advisory services to private and public companies. Prior to starting TRP, Trent was a Managing Director and led J.P. Morgan’s A&D group within the Natural Resources Investment Bank. Prior to that, he was Executive VP at Albrecht & Associates, where he managed the day to day A&D practice.
While at J.P. Morgan and Albrecht & Associates, Trent was directly involved in the evaluation and execution of nearly 220 upstream asset sales and M&A transactions totaling approximately $45 billion.
Trent received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Randy Dolan, P.E. – Co-founder and Co-CEO
Prior to starting TRP, Randy was an Executive Director within J.P. Morgan’s Oil and Gas Acquisitions & Divestitures group within the Natural Resources Investment Bank. While at J.P. Morgan, he focused on executing A&D and M&A mandates as well as providing strategic advisory services for both public and private companies exploring financing alternatives.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Randy was a Vice President at Albrecht & Associates where he represented sellers across a range of onshore US assets and tight gas/shale plays in Europe and South America.
While at J.P. Morgan and Albrecht & Associates, Randy was directly involved in the evaluation and execution of nearly 140 upstream asset sales and M&A transactions totaling approximately $40 billion.
Randy received both a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA (Dean Scholar) from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Barrett Schick – Chief Financial Officer, Partner
Prior to joining TRP, Barrett spent over 10 years in energy focused private equity and investment banking having worked previously at First Reserve, Lime Rock Partners and Lehman Brothers.
Most recently, Barrett was a Vice President at First Reserve, a leading global private equity investment firm focused on energy, with a particular focus on the reserves sector. His responsibilities ranged from deal origination and structuring to due diligence, execution and investment monitoring. Prior to First Reserve, Barrett was a Senior Associate at Lime Rock Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the energy sector. While at First Reserve and Lime Rock Partners, Barrett served on the boards of several private upstream oil and gas companies. Barrett started out his career as an Analyst at Lehman Brothers in the Global Natural Resources Group, Investment Banking Division.
Barrett received both a B.B.A. and a M.P.A. from the University of Texas at Austin
Skyler Schawe – Vice President, Engineering
Skyler serves as Vice President of Engineering for TRP Energy. Prior to joining TRP, Skyler was a Vice President within J.P. Morgan’s Oil and Gas Acquisitions & Divestitures group. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he worked as a Senior Engineer at Albrecht & Associates. During this time at J.P. Morgan and Albrecht, Skyler provided a variety of strategic advisory services to public and private companies, with a focus on A&D and M&A mandates. This work included performing reserve determinations, field studies and asset valuations in basins across the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Skyler received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
Joey Bernica, P.E. – Vice President, Business Development
Joey serves as Vice President of Business Development with TRP Energy. Prior to joining TRP Energy, Joey worked in the Global Business Development group at Murphy Oil. While at Murphy Oil, he focused on valuing, structuring, and executing E&P transactions as well as providing strategic and financial analysis.
Prior to joining Murphy Oil, Joey was a Reservoir Engineer at ConocoPhillips where he worked in the Eagle Ford and Applied Reservoir Engineering groups.
Joey received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Rice University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Brian Carl – Vice President, Land and Legal
Prior to joining TRP, Brian represented a wide range of E&P companies at Steven S. Toeppich & Associates, PLLC, focusing on matters relating to title examination, acquisitions, divestitures, and private equity investments in the energy sector. He authored dozens of original, division order, supplemental, and acquisition title opinions across multiple plays, and regularly worked with clients in the successful implementation of drilling programs.
Formerly, Brian served as a Senior Legislative Assistant to Congressman Louie Gohmert, primarily handling issues related to Energy, Transportation, and the Congressman’s responsibilities related to the House Committee on Resources, Subcommittee on Energy and Minerals, and Subcommittee on Water and Power.
Brian received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, New Mexico and Pennsylvania.
Sam Beckham - Senior Geologist
Sam serves as the Senior Geologist with TRP Energy. Prior to joining TRP Energy, Sam worked as a Senior Geologist for Endurance Resources, LLC in Midland, TX. While at Endurance, Sam focused on exploration, development, and operations in the Delaware Basin which resulted in a successful sale of 30,000 net acres. Prior to that, Sam held Geologist roles at Cimarex and Jones Energy where he gained experience in the Delaware and Arkoma basins.
Sam received his B.S. in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin. He is working to defend his thesis on the San Andres formation through the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2017.
Joe Lee - Finance Associate
Prior to joining TRP, Joe was an Analyst within J.P. Morgan's Corporate Client Banking Energy Group in Houston. During his time at J.P. Morgan, Joe covered a portfolio composed of E&P, midstream, and oilfield services companies and performed credit and financial analyses to provide bank financing, from origination to execution. His experience includes structuring and documentation of transactions, syndications, and leveraged finance. Before joining J.P. Morgan, Joe was an Associate in the audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Houston.
Joe received a B.B.A. and M.P.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and is a CPA in the state of Texas.
Kyler Clark – Petroleum Engineer
Kyler serves as a Petroleum Engineer with TRP Energy. Prior to joining TRP Energy, Kyler interned with several companies while attending Texas A&M University including Weatherford International, Energy XXI, Lucas Energy and Citation Oil & Gas where he gained experience working the Gulf of Mexico, Austin Chalk, Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin.
Kyler received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Geology from Texas A&M University.
